Do I need a digital converter box for my Syntax-Brillian Olevia 232 T-12 television?

We are having to get rid of cable TV in order to cut costs, and I do not know if our television requires a converter box. We just bought it within the past 2 years and I know a lot of the TVs produced within that time-frame had converter boxes built into them. I have looked at the back of the television, and scanned the owner's manual, but I'm just not sure. I want to make sure I'm getting all the parts I need, but nothing I don't need! Understand?
