Is God tatamount to a high school bully...uming such a being existed...?

God is just, alright...just what, I'm not sure...everyone tells me he's so loving and kind, yet, most wars are in his name and if you don't do as he says, he'll punish you. I'm not too comfortable with a God that won't even let me do any thinking for myself.
