Shuriken (throwing star) techniques?
Overhead or from the side as has already been suggested. The other thing is the wave star is unique in that it depends on what kind of wound you want to cause and the target you are aiming at. If aiming for the facial area or head you want the star to rotate towards the points causing a type wound. Aiming at the body cavity you want the star to rotate towards the point side also. When it s the body it causes a larger wound when pulling it out if it has become embedded. That is the reason for the shape of the blades and the number of them. You can of course throw it at the body cavity with it rotating towards the bladed side but that only causes a cutting, more superficial type wound.
