Why do i have blood in phlegm?

Okay well i was sick not to long ago, and when i was sick right after, the next day i had a fever blister. Since then i was feeling a bit ill again with problems of nausea and loose bowels. Well in the morning when i wake up i have that urge to throw up and so i do, but it's all my stomach acid (yellow) but there is phlegm ofcourse because when i cough i can hear it. Well in the past day that ive been waking up this happens and i puke but with the puke is blood. Not alot but it's quite noticable cuz it's a purple red. Anyone know what this might be? Yes i do smoke but not that often maybbbeee once a day. And i havent been doing it that long maybe like 3 months. Thanks!
