Airsoft - No-wind mid-cap magazine?

I just bought a 150rd mid-cap mag for my AK. Is there anything I need to know in terms of maintenance? I was told to break it in a couple of times before using it. If I'm right, then that's asking me to just load it and unload it. I've also heard recommendations for lubricant, but I'm not sure what to use.
